As our days in prayer have grown into weeks in prayer there has been a growing enthusiasm. We have experienced the presence of God in tangible ways that stir our hearts and make us long for more. Our hunger for God seems to be growing as a community. Prayers for the lost, concern for the forsaken, and a desire to see the kingdom of God are the center point.
This morning we were reminded again that we are being called to discipleship. We are called to follow day by day after our Savior. The enthusiasm will increase and decrease. There will be mornings when the depression or the apathy sink back into our hearts. There will be days when waking up early and braving the cold don’t seem necessary. But regardless of how our patience is tried, we can never allow ourselves to believe that this is “exceptional Christianity”. We cannot segregate devotion to seeking the face of God in daily prayer and worship to the extraordinary. Discipleship is not for a day, week, or month – it is for a lifetime. In good times and bad, when its exciting and when it feels difficult, we must continue seeking.
I believe that the love of God will continue to be unfailingly at work in my life.
