Feb 2 - Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
Hebrews 7:25

Over the past week, this verse keeps coming to mind during prayer. He always lives to make intercession. Our Lord makes intercession for us. He pleads our case before the Father. He brings us into the presence of the Father by his own sacrifice. He sees that we are weak and pleads for strength. He hears our cries and prays for relief. He understands our total need for the presence of God and implores the Holy Spirit to pour into our hearts. It is as we tap into the prayers that are on Jesus heart that we begin to intercede.

I have always envisioned Jesus sitting at the right had of the Father as He intercedes for us. But this morning I had a picture of Jesus prostrating himself before the Father on our behalf. He is gripping the robes of the Holy One. His tears are pouring down in pools around the throne. He is displaying the desperation of the universe in the throne room of God.

What could the exalted Lord of the Universe be desperate for? He is desperate to see the love of God be victorious in the World. He is desperate for the reward of his suffering. He is unceasingly desirous to be united with his Church. Even more, he is brokenhearted over the wounded and forgotten souls in the world. He wants every man and woman to be transformed as they gaze upon his beauty. He is passionate about leading us on an everlasting journey into the heart of the Triune God.

Please, ask yourself today, “what would Jesus do?”

Be Blessed.
