Monday, for some, is a day to snap to attention and begin again the duties of the work week. We quickly asses the previous week and plan the priorities for the days in front of us. There are many duties to be accomplished, many interests will vie for our attentions; how harsh the separation between the Holy glow of Sunday and the earthly pragmatism of Monday. But how beautiful the songs of a church on Monday morning! In the early hours we gathered in silence and waited for our directions. At first our hearts were pricked by the spirit of Confession take not thy Holy Spirit from me. Our confession of sin vacillated from our inability to the Father's Holiness. Finally a center that can hold our hearts fast, a love that can order our interests, a King who can lead us into battle! His love has poured into our hearts once again. In our depravity he has rescued us and cleansed us. In our weakness he has provided strength. He gives us his truth that our lives may be prophetic expressions of his Gospel. This is the clarion call of the Spirit in our hearts this week: To Christ Be Glory in the Church, Now and Forever, Amen.
