The Heart of Christ

This morning the Spirit led our prayers to address the place where dying to self meets becoming alive in Christ Jesus. Our stony calloused heart, which is the deposit of all of our sins, personal ambitions, self-glorification, pride, and egoism, needs to be removed from our body and the eternal love and submission to the Father's will, which is the heart of Christ, needs to be deposited. We want a heart that breaks with compassion for the lost and desire to seek out the will of the Father late into the night. Our hearts are weak; they will fail. But his heart never fails. It is like the burning bush, it is set ablaze with a passion to glorify the Father, but it is never consumed. His heart is full of an eternal love that transcends the limits of history and geography and yet is living and active in each part of our lives. We want the unity of thought and purpose with our families and in our church that only comes from having the heart of Christ. Specifically we desire his heart for this city. We know that he has a plan and a purpose for the city just as he has a plan and a purpose for each one of us. We want to be willing servants that follow his plan to destroy sin and rescue the lost in our city in this time.

Seek His Face Always
